Jimena Paz

GCFP, Movement Educator

Jimena Paz studied with Feldenkrais trainer David Zemach-Bersin and became a Guild Certified Feldenkrais practitioner in 2006. Her ongoing practice has been focused on performing artists and people of all ages who are dealing with chronic pain, recovering from injuries and/or interested in moving with more ease and precision. Jimena served as an Associate Professor at the University of the Arts (2017–2024), where she created a somatics curriculum specifically for dancers. With a lifelong career in dance, she remains active as faculty at Movement Research and The New School. Jimena’s integrated approach is further informed by training in contemplative and trauma-informed practices, alongside studies in Dynamic Anatomy (Nancy Topf), Danza Comunitaria (Aurelia Chillemi), and Cultural Biology (Humberto Maturana and Ximena Dávila Yañez). This comprehensive and multicultural background allows her to facilitate deep, transformative learning processes in movement and self-awareness.
